Shafy has over 35 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He served as VP and BU manager of the Analog Mixed Signal Group at Microsemi. He was the VP of Operations and Technology Development at Open-Silicon. He was the VP of Technology at Lightspeed Semiconductor where he joined the founding team that invented structured ASIC technology. Shafy was the Director of Technology Development at Actel Corporation, where he participated in the development of the first generation of FPGA products. He also held engineering positions at Intel Corporation. Shafy holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
SVP & GM, Custom Silicon
Manoj is an accomplished technologist and business executive with a proven track record in creating high-growth, profitable businesses through defining, building, and marketing industry-leading products. Over the last 25+years, Manoj has built several businesses from the ground-up across broad market segments – Mobile, AI, Server, Networking, and Graphics. He has held GM roles at QLogic, Cavium, NVIDIA, and Cypress Semiconductor. Manoj received his MSEE from Oregon State University, MBA from San Jose State University, and has completed the Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He has eight patents in computer architecture.
SVP & GM, SOC IP
Mohit has extensive expertise in semiconductor IP, including product marketing, business development and engineering. He recently served as senior director of product marketing for the high speed SerDes and interface IP cores portfolio at Rambus. Prior to that, he was the director of ASIC IP development at Open-Silicon, a SiFive company, where he was instrumental in managing various SoC/ASIC and IP projects. He has also held various positions in design and applications engineering at Infineon Technologies and STMicroelectronics. Mohit earned an executive MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, India. He also holds a master’s degree in microelectronics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India, and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication from Thapar University in India.
VP, Product & Corporate Marketing
Sudhir Mallya is Vice President of Corporate and Product Marketing. He is responsible for custom silicon product marketing, technology roadmaps and business model innovation, corporate marketing initiatives, and strategic customer and partner alliances. He was previously at Toshiba where he led their North American silicon BU with a focus on data center and automotive applications. He is based in Silicon Valley and has held executive positions in engineering, marketing, and business development at leading semiconductor companies including Renesas and NEC. He has led multiple $100M+ global strategic customer engagements from very early concept to high volume production. He has a BSEE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an MSEE from the University of Cincinnati.
Sr. VP, Engineering
Anand has been with OpenFive since 2018. Prior to that, he set up and oversaw NetLogic Microsystem’s India operations, and continued at Broadcom after it acquired NetLogic. Anand has 30 years of industry experience, having begun his career at National Semiconductor’s Fairchild Research Center in Santa Clara, CA. Anand holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and a B.Tech. from IIT-Bombay.
VP & GM, AI Solutions
As VP & GM of AI Solutions, Chris manages OpenFive’s AI Platform development for embedded vision and edge AI inference applications. Chris brings over 20+ years of semiconductor industry experience, with a proven track record of managing large-scale SoC and ASIC businesses at top-tier companies such as Broadcom, Marvell, Cavium, and Faraday. As a Vice President at Marvell, Chris was responsible for the company’s LiquidIO® Data Center/Cloud SmartNIC and Ethernet Server adapter business. At Broadcom, he grew the StrataGX™ Embedded ARM® SoC business to record revenues with a portfolio of MCUs and Application Processors. Chris holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from Southern Methodist University, and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Sr. Dir, Operations
Dan manages the OpenFive Operations NPI and the Quality organizations. He is responsible for new product introduction (NPI) from an Operations perspective, engaging with our customers from Sales through initial prototypes until the product is released to Production. This includes package development, product, and test development engineering. Dan is also responsible for the company’s quality systems & organization to ensure all products meet our customer’s expectations.
Prior to OpenFive, Dan has held key technical roles at Monolithic Memories, AMD, Atmel, 3Dfx and Lightspeed Semiconductor. Dan received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.
SVP, Chief Financial Officer
Jay leads OpenFive's global finance function as well as working with the leadership team on business strategy. He brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, M&A, corporate governance, and investor relations. Jay was previously CFO of Open-Silicon, where he helped the company grow to profitability and more than $100m in revenue. Prior to Open-Silicon, Jay was VP, Finance, and Corporate Controller at Oxford Semiconductor. Prior to Oxford, he was VP, Finance for Semiconductor Operations at Cree and led a successful spin-off of Ultra RF, the Semiconductor Division of Spectrian. Jay holds a degree in accounting and is a certified accountant from the UK.
